Help Madonna continue its traditions of excellence
The faculty and staff of Madonna High School work daily to prepare students of Madonna for successful futures spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. Through Madonna High School’s mission of providing an environment of a caring community in service of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, anything can be possible for Madonna students as long as they put their hearts and minds to the task.
The faculty and staff of Madonna High School wish to keep this tradition of excellence. However, as a private, Christian Catholic institution, only so much funding is available to make these goals a reality. To combat the costs of preparing Madonna students for their next steps in life, Madonna High School is joining in solidarity with their Christian sister schools in the Weirton and Wheeling areas to partake in a fundraiser called the “One Mission. One Day… Can Make a Difference” 24-Hour Giving Challenge.
This fundraiser event will occur on Tuesday, May 7. From 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., donations will be accepted for diocesan schools in Weirton and Wheeling. The schools accepting donations are as follows: Weirton Madonna High School, St. Paul Catholic School, St. Joseph the Worker Grade School, St. Vincent de Paul Parish School, St. Michael Parish School, Our Lady of Peace School, Corpus Christi School, and Central Catholic High School (Wheeling).
Donations can be given through the Department of Catholic Schools’ website: https://wvcatholicschools.org/day-of-giving/. Donations to the school by check are also welcome. Checks must be made payable to Madonna High School, dated May 7, 2019, with “One Mission. One Day…Can Make a Difference” on the memo line of the check. Any prospective donor can bring their generous donation into the school any time before 3 p.m. on May 7.
Funds donated to Madonna High School will be used to support Madonna’s operating budget. This budget is used to improve student programs, maintain the school, and to institute new programs at Madonna High School. We are blessed to have a generous donor that will match each gift dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000, so there is an opportunity to raise $10,000 in 24 hours!
The Northern Panhandle schools of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston are calling upon the aid of the faithful to continue good Catholic education in the Ohio Valley for anyone who wishes to learn in a faith-based atmosphere. May God Bless now and forever the schools that spread His word and all who fund them. Any dollar amount given will be highly appreciated, no matter how small. By donating, donors will also be in the prayer intentions of many teachers, staff, and students at each school.
At Madonna, we are followers of CHRIST and leaders in the WORLD!
