OVAC championship games rescheduled

Due to inclement and untimely weather, baseball and softball Ohio Valley Athletic Conference games have been pushed back to today and Monday.
In baseball, Edison will face Meadowbrook for the Class 4A title on Monday at a time to be determined. The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
For the Class 2A championship, Catholic Central and Toronto, originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today in Steubenville, will play on Monday at a time and place yet to be determined.
Big Red is scheduled to still play today for the Class 5A title against Morgantown in Steubenville. The start time has been moved from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If necessary, it will be moved to 2 p.m. at the latest. If the game cannot start until after that time, it will be moved to Monday due to prom.
Madonna is still scheduled to play at 4 p.m. today in Steubenville against Cameron for the Class 1A title.
In softball, all games are scheduled for today in Wheeling.
Brooke will face Big Red for the Class 5A title at 10 a.m. Oak Glen will then battle St. Clairsville for the Class 4A championship at 11:45 a.m., while Madonna faces Frontier at 1:30 p.m. in Class 1A. All games will be played on Field 3 at the I-470 Complex.
WV SECTIONALS
The Class AAA, AA and A softball sectional tournaments have been set.
Beginning with Class AAA where all games will be played at I-470, Brooke drew the third seed and will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday against No. 2 John Marshall. The winner will face top-seeded Wheeling Park at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The losers from each game will play at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and then that winner will face the winner from Wednesday’s game at 5 p.m. on Friday. If necessary, a do-or-die contest will be held on Saturday.
In Class AA, Oak Glen is the top seed, while Weir High is No. 3. The Red Riders travel to No. 2 East Fairmont for a doubleheader on Monday. If necessary, a third and decisive game will occur on Tuesday.
Oak Glen is neutral until Wednesday when it hosts a doubleheader against the winner of No. 5 Fairmont Senior and No. 4 North Marion. If necessary, the third game will be on Thursday.
The winners from both games will play a doubleheader on Friday at the higher seeded team’s site. A decisive winner-take-all game will occur on Saturday if need be.
Wrapping up with Class A, Madonna drew the second seed and will face No. 3 Valley at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Wheeling. Top-seeded Wheeling Central faces No. 4 Hundred at 5 p.m.
If the Blue Dons win, they’ll face the Wheeling Central/Hundred winner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. If they lose, they will face the loser of that contest at 5 p.m. The sectional championship will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday and at a time to be determined on Saturday if necessary.
