PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. -- The Weir High softball team continued the Ripken Experience in Tennesse with a 10-9 victory over LaBrae on Friday.
Its second game was cancelled due to rain. Weather permitting, the Red Riders (12-10) will play two more times today, including a game with Turpin from Southwest Ohio.
Chesney Tice started and picked up the victory. She walked one and struck out four over seven innings. At the plate, Bella Aperfine singled and hit a solo home run. Taylor Webster singled and drove home one, while Sophia Mikula and Alexis Adams each tripled. Taylor Webster, Liv Rosnick, Mallory Rosnick and Madison Angus tallied one RBI apiece.
