WV softball resuming today, baseball ready

Due to more rain, all West Virginia softball sectional contests have been postponed to today.
In Class AAA, Brooke squares off with John Marshall at 11 a.m. The Monarchs bested the Bruins, 7-3, on Wednesday. Whoever loses will be eliminated, while the winner will then face Wheeling Park for the sectional title.
In Class AA, top-seeded Oak Glen hosts No. 2 seed East Fairmont for a doubleheader at 1 p.m. If either team wins both contests, it will advance to regional action. If the two squads split, a third and decisive game will be held on Monday.
As for Class A, Madonna trails Wheeling Central, 7-0, and will be resumed at 2 p.m. today. Then, the loser of that contest will face Valley at 3:30 p.m., with the loser being eliminated.
BASEBALL
The sectional tournaments are set for West Virginia baseball.
Beginning with Class AAA, all games will be held at John Marshall. Brooke, the third seed, opens play against No. 2 seed John Marshall at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner will face top-seeded Wheeling Park at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The loser of that game faces the loser of the first game on Thursday, before the winner faces the Game 2 winner on Friday and Saturday (if need be).
The Class AA tournament begins with a pair of games at 5 p.m. on Monday. No. 4 seed Weir High hosts No. 5 seed North Marion, while third-seeded Oak Glen travels to No. 2 seed East Fairmont. Not playing on Monday, Fairmont Senior is the top seed.
Finishing with Class A, all games will be held in Wheeling. Madonna is the third seed and will face No. 2 seed Cameron at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The 5:30 p.m. game before will see No. 4 seed Hundred against top-seeded Wheeling Central. If Madonna wins, it'll face the winner of the first game at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. If it loses, it will face the loser at 5:30 p.m. It is a double elimination tournament.
In Ohio, the baseball tournament draw is Sunday.
