WEIRTON — The Weir High girls soccer team opened its season with a 2-2 tie against East Fairmont on Friday.

Ava Taylor scored both times for the Red Riders, while Bella Aperfine and Jules Gladowski recorded assists. Alexis Adams notched six saves in goal.

Cheyenne Frederick and Becky Buchanon scored for East Fairmont.

Weir hosts Wheeling Central on Tuesday.
