FAIRMONT -- The Oak Glen softball team played two games in Marion County on Wednesday, scoring a combined 35 runs while getting back-to-back no-hitters from its pitching combo of Maddie McKay and Lizzie Kell.
The Golden Bears, now 14-0 on the season with the pair of victories, defeated Fairmont Senior, 19-0, in five innings and North Marion, 16-0, in three innings.
Against the Polar Bears, McKay, the All-State senior standout headed to the University of Toledo, struck out 11 of 17 batters faced to turn in the first no-hitter of the day, walking two.
At the plate she hit a double and had an RBI to help her own cause, while Sydney Brown doubled twice and drove in two runs, Sarah Brown had three hits and two RBIs, Kell knocked in two runs with a single and Olivia Munoz and McKayla Zoellers each had a pair of hits, Munoz knocking in a run as well.
As a whole, the Bears racked up 14 hits with 11 different players batting in at least one run.
Against the Huskies, an 11-run top of the third enacted the mercy rule while Kell fanned six for the second no-hitter of the day by an Oak Glen pitcher, issuing just one walk.
Kenna Calahan had a triple, double and three RBIs for the Golden Bears, while McKay also plated three runs with a pair of hits.
Munoz (two hits, three RBIs) and Sarah Brown (two RBIs) each homered in the win.
The Golden Bears take their undefeated record into the John Marshall tournament on Friday and Saturday, where they will play in Pool B at the East End Field in Moundsville.
Oak Glen takes on Ripley at 2 p.m. and Washington at 4 p.m., both on Friday.
Big Red tops Edison in extras
RICHMOND -- Seven innings was not enough for the Big Red and Edison softball teams to decide a winner on Wednesday at the Edison Sports Complex, as Steubenville prevailed in extras, 5-4, with a run in the top of the eighth.
Jules King had a pair of hits in the win for Big Red, as kid Amaria Swearengen and Paige Matteson. Swearengen drove in a pair of runs for Steubenville.
King, who went the distance for the win in the circle, struck out 18 batters in the victory.
Mychi Stewart drove in a pair of runs for Edison, while Alayna Meadows also went the distance in the circle and struck out three.
Blue Dons even record with win
PADEN CITY -- The Madonna softball team traveled to Paden City on Wednesday and got a bounce back win, 5-1, to even its record at 4-4 on the season.
Mia Pietranton led the Blue Dons offensive attack going 3 for 3 at the plate, while Grace Parker and Anna Backel both collected two singles.
Maddie Cross got the win in the circle for Madonna, going the distance with two strikeouts.
Red Knights tame Bulldogs
BRIDGEPORT -- The Toronto softball team blanked Bridgeport on the road Wednesday evening, 8-0.
Andrea Reaves fanned 17 batters in the win, walking three and limiting the Bulldogs to just one hit.
Michelle Anderson had a single and an RBI for the Red Knights, while Ashton Thomas batted in three runs with a single and a double.
Huskies hand Creek first loss
CADIZ -- Harrison Central took an early lead, added to it later on and fended off Indian Creek to hand the Redskins their first loss of the season Wednesday, 3-1.
Tristen Kovarik picked up the win in the circle for the Huskies, striking out six in going the distance.
Lizzie Clelland doubled for the Huskies, while Jenna Young, Olivia Tonkovich and Alina Williams each had an RBI.
For Creek, Carley Penner gave up just one earned run and fanned four in the loss.
Brooke Grant went 3 for 3 with a double for the Redskins, while Penner had a pair of hits and knocked in Creek's lone run.
Crusaders fall at Beallsville
BEALLSVILLE -- The Catholic Central softball team dropped a 10-0 decision on the road to Beallsville, Wednesday.
Bella Zinno and Natalia Dunburg had the lone hits for Central, both singles.
Jayda Jones had three strikeouts in the loss for the Crusaders.

Panthers top Madonna
WEIRTON -- Buckeye Local continued its impressive winning streak on Wednesday, topping Madonna, 7-2, at Edwin J. Bowman Field.
The Panthers, now 5-2, have won their last five-straight games.
Buckeye Local a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth and added six runs to it an inning later, before the Dons got on the board in the bottom of the seventh.
Ethan McHugh went the first five innings and got the win for the Panthers, striking out three and walking one.
Skyler Ebright had a pair of hits and an RBI for Buckeye Local, while Gavin Romanyak also drove in a run.
Madonna (5-7) was plagued by seven errors but had 10 hits.
Luke Amaismeier drove in a run while Lucas McAllister and Chase Littleton had multi-hit games and David Connors doubled.
Parker Haney went 5 2/3 innings in the loss, striking out 10. Just one of the six runs he was charged with were earned.
Buckeye Local is set to host River today at 5 p.m. at Mazeroski Field, while the Blue Dons will look to bounce back with a home doubleheader against Carrollton beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Ferry comes back to top Edison
RICHMOND -- The Edison baseball team took a three-run lead through four innings at home Wednesday, but visiting Martins Ferry scored the last seven runs to stay undefeated with a 10-6 victory.
Gage Cline and Matt Parsons each drove in two runs for the Wildcats, who are now 3-6.
Hunter Rothacker fanned six in going the first five innings in the loss.
Edison is set to travel to Southern today.
