PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. -- The Red Riders' trip south to Tennessee ended in successful fashion as John Leary's club finished the trip with a pair of victories on Saturday.
In the first game of the day, Weir High topped Salem 11-1.
Madison Angus went five innings for the win in the circle, striking out five.
Sophia Aperfine had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Rayna Hoover had three hits and three RBIs, also with a double, and Kylie Dean knocked in a pair of runs with a double, as did Liv Baker (two hits).
In the second game, the Red Riders topped Crestview, 6-4.
Reagan Hoover went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, while Angus batted in a pair of runs and Mallory Rosnick and GiGi Paladina recorded RBIs.
Hoover's triple in the bottom of the sixth plated the go ahead runs.
Angus went the distance and fanned six in the win.
The Red Riders went 4-2 on the three-day trip and are now 17-4 on the season, with a trip to rival Oak Glen on tap today.
Oak Glen splits to end JM tournament
GLEN DALE -- The Oak Glen softball team split two games in John Marshall Tournament on Saturday, topping Big Red and falling to host Monarchs.
In the match up with Steubenville, Oak Glen prevailed 7-1 while Sarah Brown had a double and two RBIs, and Olivia Munoz tripled and plated a pair.
Maddie McKay, who fanned six in five innings for the win, went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
For Big Red, Sena Smith had an RBI and a double while striking out five in the circle.
In Game 2, Sarah Brown had a double and McKayla Zoellers a triple, but the Golden Bears could not get a run across and fell, 3-0, to John Marshall.
Lizzie Kell took the loss with a five strikeout outing.
Oak Glen, now 17-2, returns home to host Weir High today.
Shenandoah sweeps Buckeye
SARAHSVILLE - The Zeps were simply too much, twice, for the Panthers on Saturday in sweeping a twinbill.
In the opener, Charli Wickham got the win in the circle and also had two doubles and a single. Mya Leach had two doubles.
Rylie White led the Panthers with a double, single and two RBI. Madison Roset had a RBI double.
In the second game, Wickham had another big game at the plate with three singles and four RBI. Leach was the winner in the circle.
The Panthers were led by White again. She had a solo home run and Alexa Williams had a double and two RBI.

Panthers take two from Zeps
SARAHSVILLE - The Panthers picked up a pair of wins against the Zeps on Saturday thanks to some impressive offense.
Buckeye Local pounded out 26 hits in the two games.
In the opener, Ethan McHugh had a double, single and drove in five. Trey Hoover had a double, two singles and drove in four. Gavyn Romanyak had two singles and drove in three.
In the nightcap, McHugh continued to terrorize the Zeps. He had three doubles and drove in five more runs. Jesse Meddles had a double and two singles. Hoover doubled home a run and Jacob Berry and Corey Olinski each had a RBI single.
St. Clairsville tops Harrison in 8
CADIZ - The Red Devils put the brakes on a three-game losing skid by toppling the Huskies in eight innings.
The Red Devils rallied from a three-run deficit and got solid work in relief from sophomore Hunter Hoffman, who came on in the fourth to earn the win.
Both sophomore Mason Myers and senior Joey Balgo had three singles and two RBI. Austin Porter had a single and two RBI and sophomore Braylon Blomquist had two base hits.
Harrison Central received a triple and two RBI from junior standout Treston Nemeth.
