Katie Zatta, who became just the fourth player in the history of the Catholic Central girls basketball program to exceed 1,000 points, has decided to continue her academic and athletic career at John Carroll University in Cleveland. The Blue Streaks compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference and posted a 23-5 record during the past season. A four-year letter winner for the Crusaders, Zatta, who plans to major in business, finished her high school career with 1,142 points. During her senior campaign, she averaged 21.4 points a game and knocked down a school single season record 72 3-pointers. She earned second team All-Ohio Division IV honors and was a first team All-Eastern District Division IV, All-District 5 Division IV and OVAC Class 2A selection. Zatta led the Crusaders to their first OVAC title in 33 years and was named MVP of the Class2A championship game. She participated in the District 5 and OVAC All-Star games.
