Edison holds youth camps

1 min read

Edison recently held a three-day youth basketball camp at its new high school fieldhouse and the high school gym, with more than 70 attendees. The camp consisted of boys and girls groups for grades 1-3 and 4-6. The Wildcats varsity girls head coach Mark Smyth, varsity boys head coach Jeremy Matics, Edison youth coordinator Jason Ensinger, girls assistant coaches Lindsey Morrison and Ron Smyth and boys assistant coach AJ Forte, ran the camp, with the help of several girls and boys players from the Edison junior high and varsity teams. The camp focused on basketball fundamentals and getting the youth involved with basketball. Travel and league teams for the boys and the girls from the two separate age and grade groups are also being planned, with more information to be announced in the future. — Contributed
