Edison tops Beaver in five

CALCUTTA -- The Edison volleyball team battled its way to a five-set win over Beaver Local on the road on Monday, 25-19, 21-25, 16-25, 25-16, 15-10.

For the Wildcats, Alexandra Ash had 17 kills, three blocks, eight points, two aces and two digs, Audrey Scott recorded 27 digs and six points, Hailey Teichman recorded 14 points, three aces, 13 digs, a kill and 12 assists, Olivia Huff finished with 10 kills and four blocks, Ellie Joynson picked up 12 digs, eight points and two aces, Kendra Teichman had 13 points, three aces and eight digs, Katie Fluharty and Pressly Meadows each collected two kills, while Ali Shrieve recorded three kills and four digs, Rebecka Evans set 21 assists, had nine points, two aces, five kills, a block and a dig andAva Cline finished with two kills and a dig.

Edison hosts Toronto tonight.

Buckeye Local sweeps Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT -- The Buckeye Local volleyball team swept Bridgeport on the road on Monday, 25-17, 25-19, 25-11.

For the Panthers, Shayleigh Hornyak had 11 kills, 15 attacks, a solo block, two block assists, four digs, five points and an ace, Madison Zersoki had three kills, 10 assists and two points, Morgan Richardson finished with five kills, 18 attacks, one solo block, two block assists, three digs, 17 sets and nine assists, Brynn McKeever tallied four points, four attacks, four digs, 32 sets and five aces, Pam Kandrach racked up six kills, three aces, 15 attacks, four digs and 10 points Samantha Ankrom recorded nine digs, five points and an ace, Jaelee Thompson finished with five kills, 13 attacks, four digs, nine points and four aces and Avah Williams collected three aces, 11 digs, 19 sets, nine assists and nine points.

Buckeye Local is scheduled to host River on Wednesday.

Edison XC places at Meadowbrook

BYESVILLE -- The Edison cross country teams enjoyed a solid day at the Meadowbrook Invitational on Monday.

The Wildcats girls team placed eighth overall and the boys 10th.

Josie Lesnansky was third overall to lead the girls, while Gage Cable (16th) and Brock Koehnlein (21st) led the boys.

Oak Glen golf wins tri

CALCUTTA -- The Oak Glen golf team topped Beaver Local by 12 and Southern Local by just three strokes in a tri on Monday, shooting a 176 at Beaver Meadows.

Cole Vega was the medalsist for the Golden Bears with a 38, followed by Logan Weekley with a 43, Brady Chaney with a 47 and Preston Cole with a 48

JM tops Big Red golf

MOUNDSVILLE -- Big Red dropped a dual match at Mounsville Countty Club to John Marshall, 157-179.

The Monarch's Ethan Cook was the medalist with a 35.

Big Red got a 42 from Nick Nurczyk, a 44 from Chris Elliott, a 46 from Bubby Reese and a 47 from both Frank Vostatek and Waylong Hayes.
