Anderson's big night leads Creek to big win at Harrison

CADIZ -- Kylie Anderson tallied 33 points and 18 rebounds to lead Indian Creek to a key 54-39 win on the road at Harrison Central on Thursday night in what was a battle of the current top two teams in the OVAC Class 4A standings.

The win moves the Redskins to 11-3, while the Huskies fall to 10-5.

Angi Ferri drained six 3-pointers for the Huskies and finished with 20 points, while Maddy Butler tallied 11.

Creek's Gabby Taylor netted eight.

Panthers top Tigers

CONNORVILLE -- Buckeye Local picked up another win and avenged an earlier setback by handing Shadyside a 52-50 setback on Thursday.

The Panthers were led by junior Pam Kandrach's 21 points. Emily Valuska added 16 and Brynn McKeever posted 10.

Shadyside senior Gentry Brown led all scorers in the game with 26.

Edison falls to Beaver

RICHMOND -- The Edison girls basketball team dropped a 53-25 decison to Beaver Local on Thursday.

Pam Johnson and Rebecka Evans each tallied six points.

Weir swimmers set PRs

GLEN DALE -- Competing against John Marhall, Wheeling Central and St. John's on Thursday, Weir High swimmers set new personal bests in a dozen events.

Danielle Best set PRs in the 100 freestyle and 100 back, as did Alena Austin in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Ryan Owens in the 500 freestyle and 50 freestyle, Max Wood in the 100 brestroke and 100 freestyle, Leanna Bissett in the 100 brestroke and 200 freestyle and Alex Palacios in 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
