Locals make all-state lists

Local players from both sides of the river were recognized on all-state lists released Monday and Tuesday.

In Ohio, the Division I and II girls basketball All-Ohio lists were released by the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association on Tuesday.

Included on the OPSWA list in Division II were three local players.

Indian Creek had a pair of representatives, while Big Red had one.

The Redskins' Kylie Anderson garnered special mention. A junior, she averaged 13.5 points per game.

Teammate McKenna Scott, a sophmore, was named an honorable mention. She averaged 11.5 points.

Big Red's Sadie Edwards, a freshman that averaged 10.7 points per game, was named an honorable mention.

The Division III and IV boys lists will be released today, and Divisions I and II will be released on Thursday.

In West Virginia, the Class A boys and girls all-state lists were released and there were three players total, two boys and one girl, from Madonna that made the list.

The lists were voted on by the West Virginia Prep Sports Writers Association.

On the boys side, Anthony Mascio, the Blue Dons standout junior, and senior teammate Santo DoBraska were selected as honorable mentions.

On the girls' side, Madonna senior Shea McCoy garnered honorable mention recognition.
