Edison wins two, makes OVAC field

RICHMOND -- The Edison softball team won both of its games in the first Sarah Schaefer Memorial on Saturday and solidified a spot in the OVAC Class 4A tournament.

The Wildcats topped edged Ursuline, 9-8, and topped Weir High 16-0.

Against Ursuline, Grace Browning and Becka Evans each had two hits and two RBIs.

Against the Red Riders, Evans had a homer, double and single and tallied five RBIs, Ali Shrieve had a homer, a double and five RBIs and Katie Fluharty had two doubles, a single and three RBIs.

Edison got the No. 4 seed in the OVAC tournament and will play No. 1 Indian Creek at the I-470 Complex on Tuesday in the semifinals.
