First tournament held

The Chester-Newell Sportaman's Club held its first Ohio River catfish tournament of the season last week with 36 fishermen from three states participating. A total of 26 fish, 15 flathead catfish and 11 channel catfish, were measured. Dan Tice of Wellsville, left, won the longest fish award with a 33 1/2-inch flathead catfish, while Johnnie Fortner of Salem, right, won the lucky draw with a 21 1/8-inch flathead catfish. The draw number was 21. The next tournament will be held on May 27. Those interested in participating can sign up at Chaney's Sunoco in Chester. – Contributed
