KEYSER -- For the third-straight season, the Oak Glen softball team is headed to the Class AA state tournament.
After forcing the Region 1 Championship Series back to Keyser with a win at home on Tuesday, the Golden Bears out-slugged the Golden Tornado for a 13-5 win on the road in the decisive Game 3 to take the best-of-three series 2-1 and advance.
It is the Golden Bears' third-straight regional title to go with their OVAC and Section 1 three-peats.
Oak Glen held slim leads of 3-2 after one and 6-5 after three before scoring the final seven unanswered runs to pull away for good.
Addie Smith and Sarah Brown each hit home runs for coach Sherrie Garner's club.
Brown also singled and finished with two RBIs, while Smith added two singles in addition to the dinger and plated three runs.
Liv Munoz was 3 for 4 with two doubles, a single and two RBIs, while Game 2 hero Dez Carter also tallied an RBI and Kayla Wright drove in a run and finished with a double.
Lizzie Kell continued her strong run in the circle, racking up 12 more strikeouts while issuing just one walk.
Just three of the five runs were earned.
