Creek sweeps John Glenn to reach district tournament

WINTERSVILLE -- The Indian Creek volleyball team is headed to districts.
Playing in the nightcap of the sectional co-finals held on Coach D Court on Wednesday night, the Redskins swept visiting John Glenn in a Division II, East 2 District sectional championship match to move on in the tournament.
Creek, which is now 15-7 and is the No. 4 seed in the district, topped the No. 8 seed Muskies by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-17.
For coach Crystal Hammack's squad, Tori Robertson tallied two assists, an ace, 18 kills, a block and 13 digs, Reese Scott recorded 27 assists, an ace, two kills and six digs, Kylie Anderson recorded four assists, four aces, three kills and six digs, Camryn Ketron racked up two assists, 10 kill and 20 digs, Katie Cottis finished with two kills and two blocks, Brooke Crites recorded three digs, Allsion McGraw had two aces and three digs and Cara Vandeborne finished with two kills, two blocks and four digs.
The Redskins will meet No. 5 Beaver Local in the district semifinals on Monday. That match will be played inside the Crimson Center at Steubenville High School.
The Beavers topped No. 9 seed Martins Ferry, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19, in the other sectional co-final match played at Creek on Wednesday.
The Redskins split a pair of regular season matches with the Beavers.
