Madonna boys, girls sweep at Beallsville
BEALLSVILLE — The Madonna girls and boys basketball team each picked up key wins on the road at Beallsville Friday night in a boys-girls doubleheader.
The Blue Dons boys pulled away for a 61-27 win in the boys game.
Chase Littleton led the way with 13 points, while Luca Muzzi had 11 and Anthony Mascio netted 12 for the now 3-2 Blue Dons.
In the girls game, Madonna picked up a close 35-33 win over the Blue Devils.
Junior Christany Bartley led the way with 19 points for Madonna, while Rylee Birkhimer finished with seven.
Madonna pulled out the win despite missing two starters due to illness.
Edison wins on the road
SALINEVILLE — The Edison boys basketball team defeated Southern Local, 58-45, on the road Friday night to get back in the win column.
Leading the way for Edison was Bryce Rodgers with 18 points, while Deacon Rawson tallied 14 points and Jackson McBane finished with 10 to put three Wildcats in double digits.
Edison heads into the holiday break with a 3-5 mark.
The Wildcats are off until next Saturday when they play in the Todd Kalivoda Showcase at Toronto.
