STEUBENVILLE -- The Indian Creek girls basketball team opened up a big, early lead and did not look back on the way to rolling to a 64-27 victory on the road at Catholic Central on Wednesday.
The Redskins, who are now 15-2 and currently lead the East District MaxPreps RPI standings in Division II, won for the seventh-straight time.
Creek jumped out to a 25-6 lead after the opening quarter and pushed the advantage to 45-13 at the break.
Three players reached double digits in the win for Creek, led by Kylie Anderson's 18 points. McKenna Scott tallied 14 and Emma Westfall 10.
For the Crusaders, now 8-5, Anna Arai led the way with 17 points.
Creek is slated to take on Bellaire in Saturday's Buckeye 8 Championship at St. Clairsville, while Central hosts Buckeye Local tonight.
Harrison girls win
MALVERN -- The Harrison Central girls basketball team went on the road to Malvern and collected their fourth-straight win and sixth in their last seven games by taking a 48-43 victory.
The Huskies, now 6-10, take on Cambridge on Saturday in the Buckeye 8 event at St. Clairsville.
Big Red sweeps meet
STEUBENVILLE -- The Big Red girls swimming team topped Oak Glen, Union Local and Barnesville to get three team score wins on Wednesday.
Oak Glen's boys team picked up a win over Big Red in the boys team scores.
