RICHMOND -- The Brooke boys basketball team got big nights from both Toepfer brothers to lead the way to a 72-45 victory over Edison on the road on Friday night.
The Bruins got 22 points and nine rebounds from Peyton Toepfer, who hit six 3s, while Leyton Toepfer contributed 17 points and seven assists while hitting three treys of his own.
Garrett Milam also hit double figures with 16 points and added five asists, while Nate Kimball nearly tallied a double double with nine points, eight rebounds and five blocks. Gage Yost recorded 11 rebounds and four points.
For Edison, Jackson McBane led the Wildcats with 12 points, while Kyle Long and JD Henderson followed with 11 each.
Brooke travels to Wheeling Park on Tuesday in the OVAC Class 5A tournament semifinals.
Edison welcomes Oak Glen on Tuesday in a consolation game.
Beaver tops Oak Glen
NEW MANCHESTER -- The Oak Glen boys basketball team dropped a 70-43 decision to Beaver Local on Friday night.
The Beavers opened a 24-10 lead after one quarter and did not look back.
Leading the way for the Golden Bears was AJ Ramgeet with 16 points, while Preston Cole and Alex Dennis each netted seven points for Oak Glen.
The Golden Bears travel to Edison on Tuesday in OVAC consolation action.
