WELLSBURG -- The Brooke baseball team broke a tie with a three-run fourth inning and then held off visiting Oak Glen for a 5-4 victory at home on Monday.
The Bruins pulled ahead after the game was tied 2-2 through three.
Peyton Toepfer had a big game on the mound, fanning 13 batters in going six innings while walking just two to get the win. Andrew Murdock sat down two in the seventh for the save.
Anthony Bachinski had a double and an RBI, Braelyn Sperringer hit a double and a single, Owen Petrella singled twice and Carson Lauttamus and Hunter Mozingo each plated a run.
For Oak Glen, who scored one in the seventh but came up just short of the comeback, Preston Cole had two hits and three RBIs and Robert Carter had two hits.
Edison tops Buckeye Local
RICHMOND -- The Edison baseball team opened a big lead then held off visiting Buckeye Local for a 7-5 victory on Monday at home.
Bryce Rogers drove in a pair of runs for the Wildcats, while Cole Pittman, Kyle Long and JD Henderson each had a pair of hits.
For the Panthers, Gavin Romanyak was 3 for 4 with two RBIs while Mason Griffin had two hits and drove in two runs.
St. C blanks Creek
MINGO JUNCTION -- St. Clairsville's Brody Saunders fired a no-hitter and the Red Devils topped Indian Creek 3-0 on Monday.
Saunders fanned nine batters and walked four.
Creek's Silus Hyde had seven strikeouts on the mound for the Redskins.
Madonna falls at EL
EAST LIVERPOOL -- The Madonna baseball team dropped a tough 2-0 decision on the road at East Liverpool on Monday.
The Blue Dons got nine strikeouts in five innings from Matt Geer, while four Madonna players singled in the loss.

Oak Glen sweeps Toronto
TORONTO -- The Oak Glen softball team won both games of a doubleheader on Monday at Toronto, 7-0 and 7-5.
In the opener, Riley Bruce had two doubles and an RBI, Mattie Carney had a double, single and an RBI and Addie Smith had two hits, while Carney struck out nine in the circle.
Andrea Reeves had seven strikeouts for Toronto.
In the nightcap, Carney had two doubles, MAddie Murray had two hits and an RBI, Danica Holden had a home run, a single and three RBIs and Smith had two RBIs.
Reeves had a three RBIs and two hits, including a homer, for the Knights, while Isabell Cattrell also drove in two runs.
Edison tops Brooke
RICHMOND -- The Edison softball team topped visiting Brooke 8-2 on Monday.
Allie Shrieve had three hits and three RBIs, inlcuding a pair of homers, and Rebecka Evans also homered and had two hits.
