Edison girls golf team sweeps a quad match
WHEELING -- The Edison girls golf team went on the road and swept a quad match at Wheeling Park on Thursday.
The Wildcats fired a 188, edging the 192 turned in by John Marshall and also besting Monroe Central (239) and the host Patriots (250).
Katie Phillips led Edison with a 43, Kallie Mckeegan followed with a 44, Bella Evans finished with a 45 and Gwen Stine turned in a 56.
Big Red, Brooke fall
WELLSBURG -- The Big Red and Brooke golf teams dropped a tri to Morgantown on Thursday at Highland Springs.
Morgantown won with a 294, while Big Red shot 323 and Brooke a 397.
Christopher Elliott led Big Red with a 71, Evan Liggett fired an 80, Jaggar Rawson shot an 85 and Mario Orrecchio turned in an 87.
For Brooke, Parker McMahon had a 95, Cameron Raciot a 100 and Ellie McDonald and Max Malinsky each shot 101.
Ferry tops HC, IC
CADIZ -- The Harrison Central and Indian Creek golf teams were topped by Martins Ferry on thursday.
Ferry fired a 179, the Huskies a 194 and Creek a 211.
For the Huskies, Nash Roberts tied for medalist with a 42, Logan Jefferson shot a 47, Liam Roberts a 45 and Kaily Banal a 51.
For Creek, Stan Amis shot a 50, Bo Paulman a 53 and Tre Fiest-Winland, Garrin Clark and Brody Kurner each shot 54.
