Panthers top Oak Glen

CONNORVILLE -- The Buckeye Local boys basketball team got its third win in its last four games, topping visiting Oak Glen 53-39 in an OVAC consolation pool game Tuesday night at home on Kara Bright Court.

The Panthers (4-17) held a narrow 10-9 lead after one quarter and trailed by one at halftime, using a big second half to take the victory.

Buckeye Local out-scored the Golden Bears (5-14) 30-14 in the final two quarters.

Leading the way for the Panthers was Isaac Hess with 14 points, while Junante Wright netted 12 and Grant Dombroski eight.

Noah Willey led the Golden Bears with 12 points, while Gavin Geisse and Tyler Evans each netted seven.

Oak Glen hosts Harrison Central Friday night, while the Panthers travel to Southern Local Friday night, both in consolation pool action.

Weir High falls at Bellaire

BELLAIRE -- Weir High dropped a close 60-56 decision on the road at Bellaire Tuesday in OVAC consolation pool action.

The Big Reds used a 22-point second quarter to pull ahead and held on.

Weir got 22 points from Anthony Jeffers, 15 from Justin Kaczmarek and 10 Damir Mowder.

Weir hosts Wheeling Park in another consolation game Friday night.

Indian Creek falls to JM

GLEN DALE -- The Indian Creek boys basketball team dropped a 59=45 decision on the road at John Marshall Tuesday in OVAC consolation pool action.

Nickey Eddy tallied 14 points to lead the Redskins, while Caleb Bodo and Mason Lester netted 10 each.

Creek hosts Wellsville in another consolation game on Friday.
