CONNORVILLE -- McKenna Scott and the top third of Indian Creek's order placed visiting Indian Creek in solid positioning following the visitor's half of the fifth inning in Connorville.
Led by the senior D1 signee's three triple performance, the Redskins hung a four spot on Buckeye Local to take a commanding 6-1 lead with nine outs remaining for the home club.
But timely contact and a host of errors spelled doom for the Redskins and Buckeye Local came from behind to take a 8-7 win Monday evening admist a light drizzle.
The win improved Buckeye to 2-3 and snapped a three game losing streak.
Scott came on to pitch after the second inning and held Buckeye scoreless through two innings, mixing some well-placed pitches and a timely change-up that kept Buckeye's bats off balance and resulted in four strikeouts.
The home half of the first started harmlessly. Avah Williams led off with a single, but Scott retired the next two batters.
Karly Lander then hit a bloop single into center that allowed Williams to reach third. Still, no harm done.
What followed was a string of three straight errors that allowed four runs to cross in total.
What started as a 6-1 advantage quickly devolved into a narrow 1-run game.
Lander retired the visitors in order the next half inning and set her team up for some heroics in the home half of the sixth.
Two out lightning struck again for Buckeye. Missy Smith walked with two away and advanced when a liner to left form Madi Roset was mishandled, allowing Smith to score.
Roset came around on double to center from Lander, giving the visitors a 7-6 lead.
The score quickly became tied the next half inning after Scott hit her third triple to lead off the seventh and later scored on a sac fly from Riley Sadler.
Trailing again and down to three at-bats, Buckeye again went to work.
Lexi Neilly walked to start the inning and but failed to advance after a strikeout for the first out of the inning.
Bella Russell then lined a single into center, but an error allowed Neilly to score from first, giving the Panthers the walkoff win.
Lander struck out five in securing the victory while Scott had four K's and two walks in taking the loss.
Sadler finished with two RBI, as did McKenna Puskarich, while Scott, Emma Vok and Payton Rath plated one apiece.
Lander continued her hot streak at the plate with two singles to go with her RBI double, while Williams drove in a run and Haily Kovalski added a double.
