Edison pulls away from Oak Glen to win on the road

NEW MANCHESTER -- The Edison baseball team got off to a fast start on Thursday evening at Oak Glen and did not look back.

The Wildcats plated eight runs in the top of the first on the way to a 25-3 victory over the Golden Bears.

The win improves Edison to 5-1 on the season.

Chase Freeman had a homer, three hits and three RBIs, Xander Haught also drove in three runs with a double, Kayden Russell had two hits and two RBIs, Bryce Rogers doubled and drove in a run, JD Henderson and Evan Kimmerle each had two hits and an RBI and Adam Dinger had a single, dounble and an RBI.

In total, 12 different players had a hit for Edison, 14 finishing with at least one RBI.

Oak Glen, now 5-7, got an RBI each from Christian Chappell and Maddox McKay.

Edison is scheduled to host Claymont today, while Oak Glen is scheduled to host Toronto today.

Red Knights top Potters

TORONTO -- The Toronto baseball team got back in the win column on Thursday, dispatching visiting East Liverpool 13-2 on Thursday evening at the KBC.

The Red Knights are now 4-1.

For Toronto, Aiden Filby and Drake Bouscher each had two hits and two RBIs, while Tanner Newbold also drove in two runs and Chase Heckathorn plated three runs.

Bouscher struck out eight batters in four innings on the mound.

The Red Knights are slated to travel to Oak Glen today.

Creek wins big

WINTERSVILLE -- The Indian Creek softball has got itself a winning streak thanks to a 16-6 win over East Liverpool..

The Redskins topped the visiting Potters in the back half of a home-and-home series on Thursday for their third-straight win and fifth win in their last six games, and in doing so moved above .500 at 6-5.

Payton Rath, Aziah Ade and Rylee Sadler each had a double and a single, Rath and Sadler driving in two runs each.

Kylie Dray also had two hits and two RBIs

Creek is slated to travel to Beaver Local on Monday.

Toronto wins big

TORONTO -- The Toronto softball team pulled away from Heartland Christian for a run rule win on Thursday, 27-2, and in doing so evened their record up at 6-6.

Jaylee Brown had a big day with a double, single, two triples and four RBIs.

Kaydence Bailey had a double, single and four RBIs, Isabella Cattrell went 4 for 4 with two singles, a double and a triple and plated two runs.

JJ Rebich tripled and singled and drove in three runs and Madison Asafailo doubled and plated two runs, while NyAva Jett plated three runs.

Laney Danko struck out eight in four innings of work in the circle.

Toronto is scheduled to travel to Beaver Local on Tuesday.
