Steubenville was able to do that again on Tuesday, putting away a sweep of visiting rival Indian Creek in straight sets inside the Crimson Center.
After winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-20, Big Red had its strongest performance in the clinching third set, taking a 25-12 victory to put the match — and a season sweep of the Redskins — away.
“The girls played great the whole game,” Big Red head coach Logan Colabella said. “I was happy to see that the third set was their strongest set. They really finished strong. We’re getting better at finishing and keeping the momentum.”
The victory improves Big Red’s season mark to 6-5, above .500 for the first time after an 0-3 start. They’ve won six of their last seven matches.

“I am happy with where we’re at in the season,” Colabella said. “They’re getting better every single game and building on to the momentum.
“They come to work and they want to get better, they work hard every day and are a great group of girls. That’s all we can ask from them.
“We’re happy to be above .500, they’ve worked real hard to get there. We’ve got more games this week hopefully they can keep it going.”
Leading the way for the Crimson and Black were Emma Lyons with 13 kills, A’rya Bigsby with 11 kills and four aces, Addy Snyder with four kills, three aces and two digs, Giuliana Cramer with eight digs and seven kills, Phynyx Fleming with three blocks and Aubrey Slussar with 31 assists.
The loss dropped Creek to 3-7.
