The Bruins won for the third time this week and the fourth time in their last five matches, sweeping visiting Indian Creek on Thursday evening at home inside the Brooke Wellness Center.
“We were ready to go,” Brooke coach Deidra Parr said. “We had a girl out with an illness and we made it work, we had a couple freshmen step up. They’ve been working hard and it’s showing.
“They’re really coming together and playing well right now.”
Brooke won the first set, 25-19, the second 25-20 and then rallied back to win the third set 25-22 to seal the sweep.

Creek (3-10) had led by as many as six points, but the Bruins (6-10) stormed back, knotted the score at 22-22 and then scored the final three-straight to close out the match.
Brooke, for the second time this week, avenged an early season loss with the victory as Indian Creek won a five set battle in Wintersville in the first meeting. The Bruins swept Buckeye Local on Monday after dropping the first match with them earlier in the season as well. The other victory this week was a senior night sweep of Edison.
The Bruins have now won nine-straight sets.
“They’re a good group of girls and they’re doing a great job,” Parr said. “We knew this could be a good team and it is a good team. They’re really starting to click and show it.
“It’s big for us to win three in a row and big for us to beat Creek, especially in three sets. Creek is always a challenge for us.

“I can’t say enough about this group, they’re such a good group of young women. They want to work together and be a good team, there is no ‘I’ in this group.”
