Oak Glen volleyball sweeps past Weir High

NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen volleyball team earned a sweep of Weir High on Wednesday evening.

The Golden Bears, now 13-6-3 on the season, won the match by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.

It is the only time the county foes meet this season.

For the Golden Bears, Brooklyn Six and Brayley Lash each recorded 12 kills, while Averi Martin had 11 kills, Mattie Carney tallied five kills, Haylee Stewart contributed four kills, Mikalyn Balch had 42 assists and eight digs, Keira Vick tallied seven digs and two aces, Ellie Smith had six digs, Layla Skavenski and Kylie Robinson each recorded two digs.

Oak Glen hosts a quad against Philip Barbour, Frankfort and Buffalo starting Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Red Riders, which fell to 2-10-1, will travel to Linlsy today.
