Bruins pull away from the Panthers, 83-54

CONNORVILLE -- The Brooke boys basketball team built a lead and then used a big fourth quarter to put away Buckeye Local for a 83-54 win on the road Friday night on the Kara Bright Court inside Buckeye Local High School. 

The Bruins, now 2-2, led 17-11 after one and 39-30 at halftime, increasing the lead to 58-42 headed to the fourth quarter. 

In the final eight minutes, Brooke netted 25 points, their biggest output of the night, to put things away in the meeting of Buckeye 8 Conference foes. 

Andrew Murdock tallied 19 points and nine rebounds for Brooke, while Pete Fodor netted 15 points, seven steals and four assists, Grant Yost finished with a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double, Crosby Morris tallied 12 points and six rebounds and Ty Sperringer recorded nine points and six assists. 

For the Panthers, who fell to 1-7, Kyle Kirkland netted 18 points, while Rylan Walker tallied 11 points and Jusante Wright finished with eight points. 

The Bruins were slated to take on Union Local Saturday afternoon in the Todd Kalivoda Holiday Showcase at Toronto. 

Buckeye Local is back at home on Tuesday to host River.
