Delaney leads Crusaders

NEW PHILADELPHIA — Mara Delaney netted 34 points to lead the Catholic Central girls basketball team to a 55-32 win at Tusky Central on Wednesday night.

Mary Rohde also reached double digits with 10 for the Crusaders.

Madonna opens with a win

WEIRTON — The Madonna girls basketball team opened its season with a 37-34 victory over Valley Wednesday night, giving new coach Nick Higgins his first win in his debut.

Seven different players scored for the Dons, led by Sophie Brady with nine points.

Huskies top Brooke

CADIZ — The Harrison Central girls basketball team rolled to a 54-13 win over visiting Brooke on Wednesday for their first win of the season.

BELMONT — The Harrison Central boys basketball team dropped a 54-45 decision on the road at Union Local on Wednesday.

Brycen Kamarek led the Huskies with 17.
