Huskies top Panthers
CONNORVILLE — The Harrison Central boys basketball team has things headed in the right direction headed into the holidays.
The Huskies won their second-straight game on Tuesday night, topping rival Buckeye Local on the road 64-52.
Bryson Kamarec led coach Nick Yourkovich’s team with 22 points, a game-high, while Austin Dulkoski netted 15 and Brady Hyre 12.
After a close first half, the Huskies (2-4) pulled away from the Panthers (1-6) in the third quarter.
Buckeye Local also had three in double figures as Kyle Kirkland tallied 17 points, Rylan Walker had 15 and Hayden Wilhelm 12.
The Huskies take on Frontier on Saturday, while the Panthers battle Brooke on Friday night.
Creek falls in close game
WINTERSVILLE — The Indian Creek boys basketball team dropped a close 46-43 decision to visiting East Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The Redskins (1-6) led 17-11 after one quarter and the game was knotted at 25-25 at halftime, but the Potters (4-2) out-scored Creek 14-3 in the third and fended off the Redskins rally in the fourth to hang on.
Creek was led by 13 points from Nishon White, 12 from Caden Saffle and 11 from Evan McGrew.
The Redskins host Claymont on Saturday.
Brooke falls to Beaver
WELLSBURG — Visiting Beaver Local had a big third quarter and then held off Brooke on Tuesday night for a 65-58 victory.
The Bruins (1-2) were led by 27 points, a game-high, from Andrew Murdock in the loss, while Crosby Morris tallied 13 points.
The Bruins will look to bounce back on Friday night at Buckeye Local.

Huskies fall to Potters
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Harrison Central girls basketball team dropped a 57-49 decision to East Liverpool on Monday.
Mikayla Pelegreen led Harrison Central with 13 points. Kelsey Powes added 10.
The Huskies host Claymont on Saturday afternoon.
