Bruins extend streak, earn a repeat win over Panthers
WELLSBURG — The Brooke boys basketball team has found its groove.
The Bruins topped visiting Buckeye Local on Tuesday night, 65-43, for a repeat win over the Panthers to take the season sweep over their Buckeye 8 Conference foes.
The victory also was the fourth-straight for the Bruins, improving them to 5-2 on the season.
Andrew Murdock netted a game-high 22 points and five steals to lead the way, while Crosby Morris netted 12 points and six rebounds, Pete Fodor tallied 11 points and three steals and Grant Yost recorded eight points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.
For the Panthers (2-9), Kolton Carothers netted nine points on three triples.
Brooke hosts Indian Creek on Friday, while Buckeye Local goes to Edison Friday.
Weir falls to Linsly
WEIRTON — The Weir High boys basketball team dropped a 70-49 decision at home to Linsly on Tuesday.
The Red Riders (3-5) got 14 points from Justin Kaczmarek and 11 points from Ryant Lyons.
They travel to Toronto to take on the Red Knights on Friday night.

Brooke tops tri
WELLSBURG — The Brooke swim team topped a tri meet Tuesday over Edison and St. Clairsville, winning the boys, girls and overall team scoring.
Kiersten Harvath, Faith Farrell and Lindsey Kettler won two events for the girls, while Ryan Kettler and Aiden Stock won twice for the boys.
