Creek starts strong, tops Huskies

CADIZ — The Indian Creek boys basketball team got off to a great start against Harrison Central on the road Tuesday night and it translated into a victory.

The Redskins out-scored the Huskies 11-0 in the opening quarter on the way to a 47-35 victory over their Buckeye 8 Conference foe.

Nishon White led Creek (2-10) with a game-high 18 points and Caden Saffle also reached double digits with 12.

For the Huskies (3-9), Bryson Kamarec led the way with 10.

Creek hosts Brooke tonight in a makeup game, while the Huskies travel to rival Buckeye Local on Friday night.

Bruins’ streak snapped

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Brooke boys basketball team saw a five-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday night at East Liverpool with a 67-48 setback to the Potters.

Grant Yost led the Bruins (6-3) with 14 points.

Brooke travels to Indian Creek tonight for a makeup game.

Red Riders fall to Linsly

WHEELING — The Weir High boys basketball team dropped a 77-46 decision on the road at Linsly on Tuesday, giving the Cadets a season sweep of the Red Riders.

Syncere Stevenson netted 11 points for the Red Riders, while Ryant Lyons tallied 10.

Weir High is home against Indian Creek next Tuesday.

Shadyside pulls away from Buckeye

CONNORVILLE – Deadlocked at 36 after three quarters, visiting Shadyside outscored Buckeye Local 20-11 in the fourth quarter to collect a 56-47 victory in boys’ basketball action.

The Panthers were paced by Jusante Wright with 15 points. Kolton Carothers and Kyle Kirkland had 11 each.

Buckeye Local (3-10) hosts Harrison Central on Friday.
