STEUBENVILLE — After a tough road loss on Wednesday, the Barons bounced back at home on Saturday with a 78-64 victory over Geneva inside the Finnegan Fieldhouse.

Franciscan (16-5, 8-4 PAC), opened a 14-point lead at halftime hitting eight 3s and shooting 57 percent and maintained the margin in the second half.

Anthony Covetta led FUS with 14 points, while Zachary Pollaro netted 12 and six rebounds off the bench.

The Barons host Chatham University on Wednesday night.

FUS Women fall in shootout

The Barons women dropped a high-scoring contest with Geneva Saturday, 89-83.

FUS was led by a monster performance from Madonna grad Jazzy Melnyk, who tallied 29-points and 21 rebounds with three assists and a steal.
