OVAC Consolation

Union Local tops Edison

BELMONT — In a battle of teams looking to bounce back from upset losses at home in the OVAC semifinals Monday, top seed Union Local fended off No. 2 seed Edison in the OVAC Class 4A third place consolation game on Thursday night, 59-36.

Edison, which drops to 18-2 on the season, was led by 10 points each from Mimi Ault and Lacie Pelley.

The Wildcats travel to Cameron on Monday to close the regular season.

Oak Glen falls to Beaver Local

NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen boys basketball team suffered a 68-52 setback to rival Beaver Local on Thursday.

The Golden Bears (10-6) were led by 16 points from Gavin Geisse.

Oak Glen travels to Williamstown on Saturday.
