Big Red tops Bellaire for win No. 20
BELLAIRE — The Big Red girls basketball team has hit the 20-win mark.
After winning the OVAC Class 5A championship on Saturday, Steubenville went on the road Monday to start the last week of the regular season and defeated Bellaire 53-41 to improve to 20-1 on the season.
Phynyx Fleming had a big night for Big Red, netting a game-high 23 points in the victory.
Nylah McShan finished with 14 points.
Big Red closes the regular season with a meeting with Union Local at home on Thursday night.
Edison tops Cameron again
RICHMOND — The Edison girls basketball team picked up a repeat win over Cameron at home on Monday night, 51-36.
It is the Wildcats second win over the Dragons in as many weeks and improves their season mark to 19-2.
Sophia Henderson led the way with 16 points, while Abby Boka tallied 11 and Lacie Pelley 10 to put three Wildcats in double digits.
Edison’s regular season slate concludes with the victory and they now get ready to host a Division V sectional final on Feb. 25 against the winner of Barnesville and Sandy Valley.

Weir falls to East Fairmont
FAIRMONT — The Weir High boys basketball team had the lead after the first quarter on Saturday but regional foe East Fairmont was able to take a 53-45 victory.
Ryant Lyons led the Red Riders with 17 points.
