Bruins get sweep of Weir
WEIRTON — The Brooke boys basketball team finished a season sweep of rival Weir High, earning their second win over the Red Riders in a week.
The Bruins surged ahead for a 75-59 victory on Ron “Fritz” Williams Court, improving their record to 13-8.
Brooke was led by 23 points from Andrew Murdock and 21 points from Crosby Morris.
For the Red Riders, who were playing shorthanded, Jonathan Horstman netted 18 points and Syncere Stevenson 11.

Central falls at Malvern
MALVERN — The Catholic Central boys basketball team’s season came to an end Friday with a 71-38 loss on the road at Malvern in the Division VII East District quarterfinals.
Central finishes the season 9-14.
Creek falls at Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE — The Indian Creek boys basketball team fell to Cambridge in the Division IV East District quarterfinals on Friday night, 67-22.
Creek finishes its season 6-15.

WV REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
Golden Bears move on
NEW MANCHESTER — Oak Glen took care of business in the opening round of the WVSSAC Class AA Region 1 tournament Friday night, topping Ravenswood 47-35.
Addyson Wells and Ella Stewart each netted four triples for 12 points and Mikalyn Balch also poured in a dozen for the Golden Bears (13-10), who are the No. 4 seed.
Oak Glen now advances to test top seed Williamstown on Thursday night.
