Creek tops East Liverpool for season sweep
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Indian Creek softball team went on the road to East Liverpool and earned a season sweep of the Potters with a 10-3 victory.
After the Potters struck first in the second inning, the Redskins (5-9) scored the next six runs.
Payton Rath had a double and single, Riley Sadler had three hits and two RBIs, Kylie Dray had two hits and two RBIs, Tori Gross doubled, single and drove in four runs and Gracie Hollenbeck also had an RBI.
Gross was strong in the circle, going the distance with five strikeouts and three walks.
Creek looks to make it three in a row when they welcome Beaver Local on Friday.
Huskies sweep the Panthers
CONNORVILLE — The Harrison Central softball team made it wins over rival Buckeye Local on back-to-back days, beating the Panthers on the road Wednesday 9-0 for a season sweep.
After scoreless first two innings, the Huskies plated three runs in the top of the third and did not look back.
Bailey Smith had a triple, single and two RBIs, Denaly Stull had a triple, double, single and an RBI, Kara Blackburn doubled in two runs, Mikayla Pelegreen doubled and singled and Lillian Thomas had two hits and an RBI.
Madalyn Johnson fired a complete game, two-hit shutout for the Huskies with eight strikeouts and one walk.
The Huskies (6-3) travel to Beaver Local today. Buckeye Local (2-4) visits Brooke on Friday.
Red Knights drop two
TORONTO — The Toronto softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Wednesday to visiting Wheeling Central, 11-2 and 16-0.
Vivian Gump had three hits in the opener and Gracie Ruberto and Keiara Bailey each had an RBI.
J Brown had double in the second game for the hosts only hit of the game.
Toronto (5-6) is off until Monday when they visit Catholic Central.
Brooke falls at Beaver
CALCUTTA — The Brooke softball team suffered a 19-1 loss at Beaver Local on Wednesday.
Eden McKinney had a double and Avery Rado an RBI for the Bruins (5-7).
Brooke looks to bounce back Friday hosting Buckeye Local.

Redskins bats explode against Potters
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Indian Creek baseball remained undefeated by exploding for 29 runs on Wednesday at East Liverpool, winning 29-1.
The Redskins are now 5-0 on the season. They earned a season sweep of the Potters with the win.
After opening a 4-0 lead, Creek plated 13 in the top of the third and 10 more runs in the fourth.
Hunter Rusnak was 4 for 5 with five RBIs, finishing with a double and four singles. Gavin Pownall had two hits and three RBIs, Sylus Hyde had a double, two singles and three RBIs, James Brothers drove in two runs and Adam Brothers blasted a pinch-hit homer and finished 2 for 2 with five RBIs.
Creek’s 17 hits came from nine different players. They also drew 11 walks as a team.
Parker Heath, Adam Brothers and Garrin Clark combined on the mound for nine strikeouts and no walks.
The Redskins host Brooke tonight.
Brooke falls at Beaver
CALCUTTA — The Brooke baseball team dropped a 20-3 decision at Beaver Local on Wednesday.
The Bruins (3-8-1) got a double, single and two RBIs from Andrew Murdock, a double from Aiden Provenzano and an RBI from Aidan Lathem.
Brooke visits Indian Creek tonight.
