Bruins blank North Marion

FARMINGTON — The Brooke softball team went on the road and earned a big victory in what was its last scheduled regular season game on Thursday.

The Bruins went to North Marion, a regional opponent, and blanked the Huskies 8-0 to move above the .500 mark at 15-14 ahead of tournament time.

After taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, the Bruins plated three in the third and four more in the fourth.

Eden McKinney had a pair of hits and two RBIs, Gabby Hornick drove in two runs and Aery Rado, Jazmyn Wood and Emma Bober each had two hits and an RBI, Wood, Rado and Mariona DiPaolo hitting doubles.

McKinney struck out four and walked one in a complete game shutout in the circle.

Panthers win big

CONNORVILLE — The Buckeye Local softball team used three big innings to take a 20-1 victory over visiting Toronto on Thursday.

The Panthers (13-7) got two doubles and three RBIs from Karlie Lander, who did not allow an earned run and struck out three in the circle. Danika Bauknecht had a double, single and two RBI, Addie Jones had two RBIs and Emma Vitek doubled in a run.

For Toronto (10-11) Lily Sapp had the lone RBI, NyAva Jett triples and Jaylee Brown and JJ Rebich each doubled.

The Panthers, now winners of four in a row, look to make it five-straight Monday when they visit Martins Ferry. The Red Knights look to bounce back Monday hosting River.

Huskies top the Red Devils

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Harrison Central softball team rolled to a 10-0 win on the road at St. Clairsville on Thursday.

The Huskies (15-8) got a triple, single and an RBI from Delaney Stull, two hits and two RBIs from Kam Crothers, a double and a single from Lillian Thomas and an RBI knock from Kara Blackburn.

Mikayla Pelegreen struck out 12 batters in the first five innings, while Madalyn Johnson fanned two in relief.

The Huskies host Cambridge today.
