Edison rallies for walk-off win over Big Red
RICHMOND — The Edison baseball team got its second big win in as many days, battling back and earning a walk-off, 4-3 win over Big Red on Wednesday evening at home.
Brady Haught’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Wildcats (15-6) to the win after they had trailed 3-1 in the fourth inning.
Bryce Rogers had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs for Edison, while JD Henderson also had an RBI.
Haught also fired six innings on the mound for Edison, striking out six and walking four. Kyle Long fired a scoreless seventh.
For Big Red (14-10), Royal Mayo and Cole Bowers each had three hits for Big Red, Bowers hitting two doubles. Matt Fabbro had a double and an RBI and Nolan Blackburn and Mason Chmielorski each drove in a run.
Blackburn fired six innings for Big Red, striking out eight and walking just one. Only one of the three runs charged to him were earned.
Edison takes on River View on Friday, while Big Red hosts Olentangy Orange on Saturday morning.
Madonna tops Shenandoah
SARAHSVILLE — The Madonna baseball team went on the road and topped Shenandoah on Wednesday, 11-7.
Reno Fuscardo had two hits and an RBI and tossed a complete game on the mound, while Maddox Bowen, Jacob Lazear, Sam Brooks, Evan Kaczmarek and Tyler Dillon also drove in a run each.
The Blue Dons (11-9) are back in action today hosting Magnolia.
