Brooke falls at East Fairmont
FAIRMONT — The Brooke baseball team fell in an early hole on Tuesday and could not battle back all the way, falling 6-2 at East Fairmont in the winner’s bracket of the Class AAA, Region 1 tournament.
The Bruins will play North Marion in an elimination game today at home. The winner goes back to East Fairmont needing to win twice to reach the state tournament.
Brooke fell behind 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning on Tuesday and trailed 5-0 after five before plating two in the sixth, Zac O’Mery driving in the runs with a two-run homer. Andrew Murdock also had a double and struck out eight in five innings on the mound.
Oak Glen falls at Doddridge
WEST UNION — After pulling an upset on Monday, Oak Glen hung close with bracket high seed Doddridge County in winner’s bracket action on Tuesday, but the Bulldogs ultimately pulled away for a 10-0 victory.
Oak Glen stayed within 1-0 for the first three innings and trailed 4-0 after five before Doddridge plated six in the sixth to put things away.
The Golden Bears will take on Willamstown today in an elimination game, a rematch of the opening round.

Central bows out
BOWERSTON — The Catholic Central softball team’s season concluded with a 16-0 loss at perennial power Conotton Valley on Tuesday in the Division VII East District tournament.

Panthers fall at Minerva
MINERVA — The Buckeye Local baseball team’s season came to a close with a 14-0 loss on the road at Minerva in Division V East District tournament action on Tuesday.
