Huskies’ Kamarec headed to FUS

Harrison Central standout Bryson Kamarec recently signed to continue his academic and basketball careers right here in the Ohio Valley. Kamarec, front, center, signed to study and play basketball at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, joining a team coming off its best season in 50 years. Kamarec was a first team All-East District, All-Buckeye 8 Conference, All-OVAC and All-District V Coaches Association selection this past season and was honorable mention All-Ohio and an academic All-Ohioan. He was also an OVAC and East District All-Star selection after averaging 18 points and eight rebounds per game for the Huksies. “It was a pleasure coaching Bryson for his senior season,” Huskies head coach Nick Yourkovich said. “He is a tremendous basketball player and an even better young man. Franciscan is getting very talented young man that will always represent the University the right way. Bryson was the centerpiece of our team and is going to be extremely hard to replace. His work ethic is what stood out the most to me. He was always wanting to get in the gym to work on his game. I believe that is what will allow him to be successful at the next level.”
