EAST LIVERPOOL -- The Big Red golf team traveled North on Wednesday to take on Beaver Local and dropped a tough duel match with the Beavers.
Playing a nine-hole match at Turkana Golf Course, the hosts turned in a team score of 156, 18 better than the score carded by the visitors from Steubenville.

Big Red’s efforts were led by Jaggar Rawson with a score of 40, Andrew Matzorkis with a 41, Noah Kokiko with a 44, Max Henderson with a 49, Pat Jenkins with a 53 and Joel Elliott with a 57.
It was Big Red’s first loss in a one-on-one duel in five of them so far this season. Big Red’s overall record now stands at 11-3.
Steubenville is right back in action today in another tough match with perennial power Perry coming to Steubenville Country Club for an 18-hole match.
“One bad round doesn’t define this team,” Big Red head coach Joe Garay said. “We will learn from the mistakes, have a short memory and move on to the next round.”
