BIG RED PREVIEW EVENT TONIGHT
STEUBENVILLE -- The annual Steubenville Big Red football preview night is taking place tonight at Harding Stadium.
Tickets are $5 for adults, including those with season tickers and staff, and students get in for free.
The event starts with the Big Red freshmen team scrimmaging against GlenOak at 4:45 p.m.. That will be followed by a Harding Middle School inter-squad scrimmage at 5 p.m. The meet the team festivities take place at 5:45 p.m. an the Big Red varsity squad will scrimmage GlenOak at 6 p.m.
CENTRAL’S OPENING OPPONENT CHANGED
STEUBENVILLE -- Catholic Central announced on Wednesday their opponent for their season opener has changed.
The Crusaders were originally scheduled to face Cleveland East Tech on Aug. 22 at Harding Stadium to open the season. Central will now instead play Lucas.
A release from the Central athletic department stated the change was “due to circumstances with our originally scheduled opponent.”
Lucas went 5-6 last season and is also in Division VII.
EDISON SCHEDULE CHANGE ANNOUNCED
RICHMOND -- The Edison athletic department announced on Wednesday that the Wildcats’ Week 3 game against Monroe Central, originally scheduled for a neutral site on Sept. 3, has been changed to a home game at the Edison Unified Sports Complex.
The date and time remain the same.
Edison’s release said the athletic department would also be notifying individual season ticket holders of the change in the coming days.
HIGHLANDS SPORTS COMPLEX HOSTING EVENT
TRIADELPHIA -- The Highlands Sports Complex is inviting the Ohio Valley community to shop local and discover unique treasures during The Great HSC Community Yard and Vendor Sale, taking place August 22-23 at the Highlands Sports Complex in Triadelphia.
The indoor event will feature a variety of local sellers, small businesses, crafters, vendors, and community members offering everything from household items and collectibles to handmade goods and specialty products. Vendor spaces are still available for individuals and businesses interested in participating.
The sale will be held at Highlands Sports Complex, 225 McCormick Way, Triadelphia, WV 26059. Shopping hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug.22, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 23.
Admission is $3 for shoppers, and children 12 and under are admitted free.
