BROOKE BLANKS EDISON
WELLSBURG – The Brooke boys soccer team topped visiting Edison on Saturday to get in the win column.
The Bruins had a pair of multi-goal performances on the way to a 6-0 win over the Wildcats, improving their early season mark to 1-1-0.
For Brooke, Jacob High and Jaxon Johnson each contributed two goals, while Johnson also had an assists. Giacomo Dall’omo and Cooper Wiley also had a goal each.
Dall’omo, Jacob Johnson and Kai Bowers had an assist each.
Bronson Pack made six saves in net for the shutout for the Bruins. Edison keeper Ronin Hartman made 12 saves for the Wildcats.
Brooke travels to St. Clairsville on Tuesday, while Edison visits Minerva the same night.

OAK GLEN HOSTS COUNTRY ROADS CLASSIC
NEW MANCHESTER – The Oak Glen volleyball program once again hosted the Country Roads Classic on Saturday to open the volleyball season in West Virginia.
Martinsburg won the 17-team event, topping Wheeling Central.
Oak Glen, the defending West Virginia Class AA state champions, dropped their match with the eventual runner up Maroon Knights.
Madonna also competed in the event, dropping its three pool-play matches.
