WELLSBURG -- Lexi Foresha pitched a complete game and cranked two solo home runs during the Brooke softball team's 11-3 victory over Beaver Local on Tuesday.
Foresha allowed two earned runs on five hits, two walks and struck out one. Offensively, Lizzie Foresha had three singles and two RBIs. Jaclin Headmond and Emilee Knorr each produced a single and an RBI. Angelina Lippoli singled and doubled.
Brooke (7-0) tentatively travels to Indian Creek today.
BASEBALL
Beaver Local 14, Madonna 13
CALCUTTA -- The Beaver Local baseball team scored three times in the seventh inning to defeat Madonna, 14-13, on Tuesday.
Dom Brncic started for the Blue Dons. He was relieved by Matt Amaismeier with two outs in the second. Lucky Pulice pitched the sixth.
At the plate, Mason Thompson produced a single, double and two RBIs. Brncic had two base knocks and a run batted in. Amaismeier, Brncic and Tyler Starvaggi all drove home one run.
Bellaire 8, Buckeye Local 4
NEFFS -- The Buckeye Local baseball squad fell to Bellaire, 8-4, during its senior day on Tuesday.
Vince Patrone, the Big Reds' lone senior, worked five-plus innings for the win, while delivering three hits and two RBIs.
Matt Scott started for the Panthers. He gave way to Noah Kourim in the fifth. Trey Hoover and Corey Olinski each had two hits.
