Harrison Central high school volleyball team sweeps Buckeye Local

CADIZ -- Fresh off a five-set marathon loss, the Huskies bounced back to win their home opener with a sweep of Buckeye Local, 25-12, 25-22 and 25-10, Tuesday night.

Senior McKayla Dunkle had 11 kills and five blocks to lead the Huskies. Maddy Butler had 13 points and 10 digs, while Logan Johnson added 13 assists.

Panthers out-golf Big Red

YORKVILLE -- Buckeye Local continued its strong early season with a 14-shot win over Steubenville at BecWood Golf Course, 192-196.

The Panthers were led by match medalist Josh Kerkuta, who shot a round of 39. Also for the Panthers, Aiden Polanski finished with a 45 Jacob Berry a 48 and Cameron Best 50.

Steubenville was led by Bubby Reese's 45, Frank Vostatek's 49, Sonny Scaffidi with a 51 and Cole Antill 51.

Meadowbrook tops Harrison and Creek

CADIZ -- Meadowbrook had all four of its scorers post a round of 43 or better en route to a triangular win Tuesday at Cadiz Country Club.

The Colts topped Harrison Central (181) and Indian Creek (185). Indian Creek's Noah Tweedy was the match medalist with a round of 37. Also for Creek, Logan Kuczykowski shot a 48, Connor Garbade a 48 and Luke Merriman a 52.

For Harrison Central, Aiden Sliva shot a 40, Nash Roberts 41, Wyatt Hervey 48 and Wyatt Foreman 52.
