WEIRTON -- The West Virginia Class A All-State team was released today and two Madonna players were recognized on the second team.
Blue Dons senior quarterback Santino Arlia and senior wide receiver Evan Quering were each second-team selections.
Arlia, a four-year starter for Madonna, passed for 2,123 yards and 29 touchdowns, adding another score rushing for 30 total touchdowns. He holds every program passing record for single game, season and career marks.
Arlia was also recently named the HSDT All-Area Offensive Player of the Year.
Quering, one of Arlia's favorite targets, finished the season with 49 receptions for 931 yards for an average of 19 yards per catch and hauled in 13 touchdowns.
He was also in the HSDT Player of the Year voting and was a unanimous All-Area first-teamer.
