Madonna boys pull away from Toronto

WEIRTON -- Led by 16 points each from Lennon Dietrich and Matt Amaismeier, the Madonna boys basketball team cruised to a 79-38 win over visiting Toronto Wednesday night inside the Dube Dome.

The win moves the Blue Dons to 5-2 on the season, while the Red Knights fell to 5-6.

Following the lead duo for coach George Vargo's team were Anthony Mascio with 13 points and Evan Bone with nine.

For the Red Knights, Nolan Dickinson led the way with 14 points.

Red Knight girls tame Bulldogs

TORONTO -- The Red Knights turned up the heat in the second half against invading Bridgeport and cruised to a 33-point victory.

Ashton Thomas led Toronto with 20 points and Tatum Derrington added 16.

Bridgeport received 12 points from Kaylee Bain and 10 from Brooke Stewart.
