Steubenville City Council honored the Catholic Central girls basketball team recently, passing a resolution honoring them for their accomplishments thus far in the 2021-22 season. The team finished the regular season with a 17-4 record, allowing only 34 points a game and winning 13 of their last 14 games and claiming the OVAC Class 2A title for the first time in 33 years, all while maintaining a cumulative 4.3 GPA. Third Ward Councilman Eric Timmons presented the resolution to members of the team, who included Katie Zatta, Natalie Cherepko, Clara Symington, Emily Walker, Ellen Rohde, Olivia Gibas, Theresa Kerker, Jackie O’Karma, Talia Marcino, Anna Arai, Ella Maragos and Ava Marcino, and coaches Jess Looman, Natasha Canella and Ed Looman.
