Fans and students greeted the Madonna boys basketball team Monday morning as the team left the school to make its way to Charleston for the WVSSAC Class A State Tournament. The team was led out of town by the Weirton Police and Fire Departments and fans also lined the streets along their route. The Blue Dons, the No. 8 seed in the tournament and winners of the Region 1 Co-Championship, will open their quest for a state title against No. 1 James Monroe today at 5:30 p.m. inside the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
